Boris Granovskiy-
Co President

Boris is a lifelong orienteer, having learned the sport as a kid growing up in Moscow, Russia. He retained his passion for the sport after immigrating to New York with his family in 1992. Boris spent many years training for orienteering and competing both domestically and internationally. Among his career highlights are several individual and relay US Championship titles, as well as representing the United States at six World Orienteering Championships. During a large part of his orienteering career, Boris lived in Uppsala, Sweden, the location of one of the largest and most successful orienteering clubs in the world, OK Linne. It was in Sweden, while pursuing a PhD in mathematical biology, that Boris met Allison Brown, his wife and partner in crime (and GrizO!) After relocating to Missoula in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, Boris and Allison co-founded Grizzly Orienteering, with the hopes of bringing their favorite sport to their new home. Working on GrizO and helping the club grow and thrive has brought Boris an immense amount of satisfaction, and he hopes to continue growing and developing the club's programs and offerings for a long time to come. When not scheming up new GrizO activities, Boris works as an education policy consultant, cross-country skis, plays online trivia, and hangs out with Allison, their daughter Inara, and their dog Persik.
