Summer Series
2021
Grizzly Orienteering is now hosting the Summer Series, with five events at five different venues throughout the summer, including both weekend and weeknight events. The schedule is below.

Scoring and Point System:
Points will be awarded to the top fifteen finishers on each course (Beginner; Advanced Beginner; Intermediate; Advanced) at each event. At the end of the summer, your top three scores will count towards the total standings. The top three in the standings on each course at the end of the summer will receive prizes provided by Alpine Physical Therapy and by the Good Food Store. A number of prizes will be raffled off to participants as well.
Points will be awarded as follows: 1st - 25pts; 2nd - 20pts; 3rd - 15pts; 4th - 12pts; 5th - 11pts; 6th - 10pts; etc.) Standings will be updated after each event and posted on the GrizO website and on this page.

June 8 - Playfair, Missoula (weeknight)
July 6 - Silver Park, Missoula (weeknight)
August 15: Lone Pine, Kalispell
August 29: Soft Rock, Corvallis

As always, we are looking for volunteers to help with our events. No orienteering experience is necessary for volunteering, and all volunteers get to participate for free. Tasks we could use some help with include welcome/registration, beginner instruction, and control pickup. Contact us if you'd like to help out.
If you are looking for yet more opportunities to orienteer, take a look at the schedule of the Eastern Washington Orienteering Club (Spokane area) and Cascade Orienteering Club (Seattle area and central Washington). A bit further away, you can find some great summer events in the Bend, OR area (July 30 - August 2), and US Nationals at Lake Tahoe (August 6-9).
