We continued our tradition of free, members-only events at Blue Mountain with another successful race on what ended up being one of the warmer days of the year so far.

We had a great turnout, with over 60 participants competing across six different courses. Youth ruled the day, as juniors Bela Friedman (Beginner), Finn Nowels (Advanced Beginner), and Zariah Zosel (Short Advanced) each emerged victorious on their courses. On the very phsyical Long Advanced course, Ben Conley recorded the fastest time, but never hit control #6, making Calvin Olson the winner.

This was the last tune-up for our squad heading over to the Orienteering USA Junior Nationals in central Washington next weekend. Nearly 20 GrizO competitors will participate, across youth and adult categories.

A huge thanks goes to our volunteers: Alli Brown (event directing), Boris Granovskiy (course setting), Siri Christopherson (control hanging, beginner instruction, control pickup), Calvin Olson (beginner instruction, control pickup), Loy Koch (control pickup), Larry and Kathleen Dent (help with setup, event directing, results, takedown, and even some babysitting!)
