Friday, April 23 PM: Middle Distance NRE at Lost Prairie

Saturday, April 24 AM: Middle Distance NRE / JN Day 1 at Lubrecht East

Saturday, April 24 PM: Fun sprint relay at University of Montana

Saturday, April 24 PM: Dinner and Social + Friday awards

Sunday, April 25: Long Distance NRE / JN Day 2 at Woodchuck Canyon

All forest venues are located approximately 35-50 minutes driving away from downtown Missoula, Montana.

Junior Nationals Rules

Individuals:   Each individual is eligible for individual awards, regardless of whether they are on a team.

Classes: College Varsity Male and Female, College Junior Varsity Male and Female, High School Varsity Male and Female (grade 12 and younger), Junior Varsity Male and Female (grade 12 and younger), Intermediate Male and Female (grade 9 and younger), Primary Male and Female (grade 6 and younger).

Teams:  Teams of 2 to 5 members.  Each member runs his/her course individually.  The best 3 times from each of the two days contribute to standings for team awards.  Teams can be a mix of male and female at the same level, for example a varsity team can be composed of any combination of 2 to 5 Varsity males on Green and Varsity females on Brown.  The scoring system compensates for the fact that they are on different courses.

Classes: College Varsity, College JV, HS Varsity, HS JV, Intermediate.  There are separate awards for school teams (all members from the same school), JROTC teams (all members from the same unit), and club teams - all members from the same orienteering club but different schools. Club teams for OUSA’s Mixed club team competition may be a mix of runners of any of the interscholastic and intercollegiate classes.
