About the Event
This is Day 6 of the Pacific Northwest Orienteering Festival.
We're back to middle-distance courses for day 6 of the Pacific Northwest Orienteering Festival. Veteran orienteer John Harbuck will design courses to suit all abilities: Riverside State Park: NOTE You need a "Discover Pass" to park in this park. $ This venue used to be very open ponderosa pine forest, with little debris on the ground and very fast running. Over the years younger trees have come in, and it is no longer quite as open, and often hasn't been remapped. Some areas that were mapped as mixed yellow and white patches may now be all covered with trees, but what were white forest areas now tower distinctly over the younger trees. There are many many trails created by mountain bikers. Most of these have been mapped, but it's hard to keep up, so some are not.
