Blue Mountain Orienteering
What an amazing day! Our free members-only event got a great turnout in spectacular fall weather. We believe that, out of our 8 Blue Mountain events so far, this is the very first one without snow on the ground or below-freezing temperatures.
Greg Friedman designed and put out a fantastic set of challenging courses, utilizing parts of the Blue Mountain map we hadn't used before. Siri Christopherson took on event director duties. Siri, Ben Conley, Ben Brady, Zariah Zosel, and Boris made some map updates in the weeks leading up to the event. Jeremy Ditto and Molly Todd helped with event setup. Garth Flint, Kat Franchino, and Chris Caldwell provided beginner instruction support and controls were picked up by Ben Conley, Calvin Olson, Zariah Zosel, Siri Christopherson, and Chris Caldwell.
The arena was friendly and familiar, a feeling we've been working toward since the inception of the club. Thank you to everyone who came out on Saturday and a special happy birthday to Finn, who celebrated his 15th birthday by winning the intermediate course!! We look forward to seeing people at our next event on December 9th at Lubrecht.
